Protville Airfield

Protville Airfield is an abandoned World War II military airfield in Tunisia, which is located approximately 18 km north of Oued Lill; 25 km north-northwest of Tunis. It was built by United States Army engineers in 1943 during the Tunisian Campaign. Units assigned were:
* 414th Night Fighter Squadron, 23–29 July 1943, A-20 Havoc (12th AF)
* 415th Night Fighter Squadron, 23–29 July 1943, A-20 Havoc (12th AF)
* 1st Antisubmarine Squadron (480th Antisubmarine Group), 2–18 September 1943, B-24 Liberator (ASC)
When the Americans pulled out the airfield was dismantled by engineers and returned to agriculture. An outline of the runway remains in an agricultural field in aerial photos today.
